Results of the 2021 “Alternative” Horseshoe Competition
Ever since this friendly inter-club competition was first held in 1993, the participating Clubs have met annually in a 5 or sometimes 4 way battle. That is until this year, when the lockdown prevented a meeting in person. In fact, those who attended last year, will remember it was one of the last events of its type anyone went to, before the first lockdown kicked in.
Largely due to the perseverance of Sidmouth External Competition Secretary Bob Reynolds ARPS and the enthusiasm of the clubs in general, an alternative Horseshoe event was held on-line instead this year and it was a great success with some fantastic images from all four participating Clubs: Sidmouth, Chard, Honiton and Axminster, judged on the night by Penny Piddock and hosted by our own Harri Morris.
Sidmouth did well to win the competition on points overall but all the clubs had reason to celebrate too, due to their highly placed images, and it was a very enjoyable evening and an excellent example of how it has been possible to keep club activities going despite the lockdown.
