Sidmouth PC snaps up strong result at 2021 WCPF DPIC
The annual Western Counties Photographic Federation (WCPF) Digital Photography competition (DPIC) 2021 was hosted online this Sunday 7th February, due to the lockdown precautions, but it was one of the best attended competitions ever with over 350 attendees on the day and entries from 58 different clubs associated with the WCPF.
Sidmouth made a full entry of 18 hand picked images organised by external comps secretary Bob Reynolds ARPS, and after the judging of more than 1000 images, came away with a very respectable 18th place out of 58 Clubs, level pegging with local Exmouth PC, down on last year's outstanding 8th place, but still ahead of a number of larger clubs in the area.
Bob scored highly with his four images entered including 13 points (out of 15) for The Writing Is On The Wall. Mike Hawkridge ARPS had two images scoring 13 and his Night Worker scored 12 and Highly Commended. Other contributors from the Club included Harri Morris, Suzanne Parsons LRPS, James Leacock, Hans Gabauer, Keith Urwin, Paul Gale LRPS and Michael Ginsberg. The overall Sidmouth club score was 202 points
The winning club was Bristol Photographic Society with 226 points and second was Dorchester Camera Club with 216 points and these two clubs will go onto represent WCPF in The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) national inter-federation competition in June 2021.
Well done to all the clubs who entered this highly regarded annual competition and good luck to the WCPF in June.
